Beer Pairing Bar

What happens when a beer meets the right pairing?

An artisanal cheese highlights a beer’s bitterness. A cookie reveals a roasted note. A chocolate bite transforms the perception of a dark or sour beer. At the Beer Pairing Bar, participants explore these flavour encounters and discover that each pairing can offer a new interpretation of the beer in their glass. A Cicerone® certified zythologist guides the tasting, shares simple insights and invites everyone to test, compare and describe what they are experiencing. Organised as a standalone workshop, the format brings a group together for a shared journey of discovery. When integrated into an event, the bar becomes a lively meeting point: people stop by, have a taste, chat, and leave with a new pairing to share with others.

A sensory playground where pairings surprise and conversations flow.

Try the pairings, challenge your perceptions, share your discoveries.

The Beer Pairing Bar brings together several styles of beer and a selection of sweet and savoury bites. Participants begin by tasting each element separately, then discover how pairing them changes the experience: bitterness is softened, an aroma becomes clearer, a fruity or roasted note emerges in a new way.

In the workshop format, the group follows a shared experience, which allows more time for observation and discussion. In the event format, participants visit the bar throughout the event and discover the pairings at their own pace.

In both cases, the zythologist provides accessible reference points without turning the experience into a lecture. Preferences, surprises and different perceptions are all part of the tasting experience.

What the experience reveals

  1. Understanding pairings

Participants discover how a sweet or savoury bite can change the balance and perception of a beer.

  2. Refining your senses

The tasting provides simple reference points for identifying aromas, textures, bitterness and contrasts.

  3. Sharing preferences

Enjoyed pairings, surprises and differences of opinion all become prompts for conversation and getting to know each other in a new way.
