Beer Tasting Workshop

What story does a beer tell when you take the time to really taste it?

Colour, head, aromas, bitterness, fermentation: behind every beer lies a balance to be deciphered. During this workshop, participants taste four beers selected around a common theme and discover how to observe, smell and appreciate them with greater precision. Guided by a Cicerone® certified beer sommelier, the group delves into the diversity of Belgian brewing culture: its styles, fermentation methods, expertise and the social traditions surrounding its tasting. Everyone formulates their impressions, compares their perceptions and discovers that the same glass can evoke very different interpretations.

A vibrant brewing heritage, discovered through the senses, the stories and the conversations it sparks.

Look, smell, taste: tasting becomes a journey of discovery.

In front of the participants are four beers, and just as many profiles to explore. The tasting begins with the eyes, continues with the nose, and then reveals its aromas, bitterness, texture and balance on the palate. Gradually, participants learn simple reference points to put words to what they perceive.

The beer sommelier places each discovery in its context: ingredients, brewing, styles, fermentation and local culture. Depending on the chosen theme, the experience can take the group on a journey through Belgian beers, the Brussels brewing scene, pairings with cheeses or artisanal cookies, or even the new world of non-alcoholic beers.

What the experience reveals

  1. Learn how to taste

Participants discover how to observe a beer, recognise its main aromas and better understand its balance.

  2. Explore brewing culture

Each tasting opens a door to styles, fermentation methods and a Belgian heritage renowned for its diversity.

  3. Compare perceptions

Tastes and preferences become a topic of conversation: everyone shares what they perceive and discovers the others' points of view.
