Beer Hike in the Sonian Forest

How can we reinvent our shared moments in nature?

This hike combines the pleasure of walking with a beer discovery experience in the heart of nature. On an accessible 5-to-6-kilometre route through the Sonian Forest and the Domaine Solvay, the group enjoys the scenery before reaching a specially prepared tasting stop along the way. A Cicerone® certified beer expert leads this unexpected interlude. Whether it's Belgian or Brussels beers, food pairings, or exploring the world of non-alcoholic options, participants learn to observe colours, recognise aromas, and understand the story each beer tells about its ingredients, fermentation, and Belgian brewing culture.

Between the forest and the tasting, a unique experience that brings people together, awakens the senses and celebrates local brewing culture.

Walk, awaken your senses and make discoveries along the way.

The group sets off on a 5-to-6-kilometre route through the paths of the Sonian Forest, the Domaine Solvay and the landscapes surrounding the Château de La Hulpe. The walk is accessible to all: it’s a chance to enjoy the setting, chat with colleagues, and take a real breather during the day.

Then comes the beer-tasting stop. Glasses are poured, initial guesses are shared, and the tasting begins. Why does this beer seem fruitier? Where does its bitterness come from? How does a piece of cheese or a cookie change how it tastes? Guided by the beer expert, participants compare their impressions and discover the diversity of Belgium's living heritage.

What the experience reveals

  1. Discover the forest in a new way

The route connects the landscape, the Domaine Solvay and brewing culture in an experience that goes beyond a simple walk.

  2. Learn how to taste

Participants discover how to observe a beer, recognise its aromas, and better understand the main styles and fermentation methods.

  3. Share your discoveries

Tastes, surprises and preferences naturally get the conversation flowing between participants.
