Saving The Titanic

How do you save the greatest number of people when time and resources are limited?

The Titanic has just hit the iceberg. For the participants, time stops at that precise moment: the end of the story has yet to be written.

Faced with an emergency, the team must understand the situation, challenge their assumptions and turn the resources available on board into a solution they can defend collectively.

Rewriting the outcome of the voyage together

The experience begins with an immersion in the world of the Titanic, using photographs, historical documents and clues hidden in the presentation.

Transported to the moment the ship hits the iceberg, participants must examine the facts, understand the constraints and figure out how to use the resources that were actually available on board in 1912. Ideas are debated, priorities must be set and the group gradually builds a common response.

Each team then presents its reasoning and the solution it believes can save the most people. The challenge isn't to know the story by heart, but to discover how a team analyses a complex situation, combines its resources and moves towards a decision when no obvious answer presents itself.

What the experience reveals

  1. Read the situation before acting

Distinguish between facts, assumptions and priorities to avoid rushing into the first available solution.

  2. Combine resources

Pool information, skills and ideas to build a stronger response than individual proposals.

  3. Decide and rally

Establish a direction, decide between several possibilities and defend a solution that the team can support collectively.

Who it’s for

Saving The Titanic is suitable for teams who want a collective challenge combining analysis, imagination and decision-making. The experience is particularly well-suited for project teams, managers and groups that need to solve complex problems, work under pressure or make decisions with incomplete information.
